Ecuador Welcomes Tren Crucero Gold
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador, the Ecuadorian railway company, has recently launched its new version of the 4-day Expedition Tren Crucero that brings explorers into close contact with the people and landscapes of the Andean and Coastal regions. Tren Crucero Gold will offer the same itinerary with accommodation at luxury hotels located along the route.
In Quito, guests will have the opportunity to stay at Plaza Grande Hotel located in the heart of Quito’s Old Town – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Riobamba (located in the southern Andes), Gold Tren Crucero travelers will spend the night at thehistorical Hostería La Andaluza which dates back to the mid-16th century. About one hour from Guayaquil on the coast (over in Bucay) Hacienda La Danesa will welcome expeditioners to its family-owned hacienda.
The Tren Crucero program takes visitors from the capital city of Quito to Guayaquil on the Coast, or vice versa. This expedition includes visits to colorful markets, museums, national parks, and a ride on the “Devil’s Nose” train, which is considered to be one of the most complex railways in the world.
