Itinerary Description

DAY 01: BOGOTA

Arrival to El Dorado International Airport, meeting with your guide and transfer to the HILTON BOGOTÁ HOTEL. Accommodation and rest.

DAY 02: BOGOTÁ/CITY TOUR – ZIPAQUIRÁ + LUNCH

Breakfast and transfer to the colonial section of La Candelaria, short stops for photographs at Plaza de Bolivar, the main square of Bogota. Here you will see the Cathedral, the Congress Palace, the Cardinal's Palace, the colonial church of El Sagrario, the House of Independence, the Palace of Justice and the City Hall. Visit to the famous Gold Museum, which houses the world greatest collection of pre-Hispanic indigenous gold crafts. Afterwards visit the FERNANDO BOTERO Museum which contains paintings and sculptures of this famous contemporary Colombian artist.
NOTE: The Gold Museum is closed on Mondays and the Botero Museum is closed on Tuesdays.

Afterwards, you will drive through the northern residential area of the city, and the fertile plateau to the town of Cajicá, where a short stop will be made at the main square.

Lunch included. Continuation to the town of Zipaquirá famous for its salt mine, where the underground salt cathedral will be visited. Return to Bogota.

DAY 03: BOGOTÁ - ARMENIA

Breakfast and transfer to the airport to take a flight to Armenia. Arrival in Armenia meeting with your guide and transfer to Mirador de Las Palmas Hotel. In the afternoon, tour to the Botanical Garden and Butterfly Park a perfect place to relax, listen to the sound of nature and just take deep breaths of air. Return to the hotel, dinner and rest.

DAY 04: ARMENIA/HACIENDA SAN ALBERTO – COFFEE TASTING

Breakfast and visit to Hacienda San Alberto, to take a tour of the coffee culture, where you will walk through the paths of a coffee farm and learn about the plantation, ripening of the beans, collecting, washing and drying to get a good cup of coffee. Also you will learn during a coffee tasting to choose the best quality of coffee. Lunch included. Return to the hotel and rest.

DAY 05: ARMENIA/TOUR TO SALENTO & THE TOWNS OF THE COFFEE REGION

Breakfast and full day tour around the green coffee mountains of the region, where you will be able to observe the amazing landscapes declared Human Heritage by the UNESCO. First to the towns of Quimbaya and Filandia where you will visit the Quindío viewpoint, Salento and the Cocora viewpoint. After lunch, transfer to the town of Circasia and then to the town of Montenegro. All of these typical ‘Paisa’ towns in the Coffee Region are some of the best examples of bahareque architecture in the area can be found. Observe Antioquian life and their environment.
Return to your hotel and rest.

DAY 06: ARMENIA – BOGOTÁ – CARTAGENA

Breakfast and early morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Cartagena, meeting with your guide and transfer to the CAPILLA DEL MAR HOTEL****, accommodation and rest.

DAY 07: CARTAGENA – CITY TOUR

Breakfast and tour to the most important monuments of the city. Drive to reach the Convent of La Popa built at the beginning of the XVII century on the hill of the same name. From there a beautiful view of the city and the bay can be seen. Continuation of the tour with a stop at San Felipe's Fort, built in the XVII century to protect the city. After a careful look to the construction, continuation to the walled colonial city and stop at the handicraft stores of Las Bovedas. Return to the hotel and rest.

DAY 08: CARTAGENA - ROSARIO ISLANDS - CARTAGENA

Breakfast and morning transfer to the tourist pier and departure by motorboat to the beautiful islands of El Rosario, located 1 1/2 hrs south of the Bay of Cartagena. These islands have been declared a National Natural Park, being sited of a very important complex of coral banks, populated with a great variety of reef fauna; white sand beaches and beautiful crystal waters are complements of this impressive scenery. Opportunity for swimming or snorkelling. If you prefer you can also take a rest on a hammock.
Lunch included and return to Cartagena. Overnight.

DAY 09: CARTAGENA – BOGOTÁ – FINAL DESTINATION

Breakfast and during the day transfer to the airport for the flight to Bogotá and connection to your next destination.
