Day by Day Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrival in Lima
Upon arrival into Lima International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the wonderful Country Club Hotel, located in one of the most exclusive residential districts of Lima.
Overnight in a cozy suite, decorated with beautiful colonial art, full of special touches that make you stay an unforgettable night.
Day 2: Cusco, Capital of the Inca Empire (B/L/-)
After enjoying a delightful breakfast at the hotel, you will be transfer to Lima Airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon your arrival to Cusco's airport you will be met by our representative who will assist you with your luggage and drive you to your hotel at The Sacred Valley.
On the way towards the Urubamba Valley, you will have the chance to visit Awanacancha. This Andean textile center has for principal objective to maintain the wealth of Incan textile art alive. Here you will learn about the dyeing techniques and instruments used for hundreds of years in the weaving of these famous textiles. Continue to the Pisac market, where you will have opportunity to interact with local people, and even negotiate with sellers.
Lunch at the Sacred Valley, combining the delights of the valley with a Peruvian Paso Horse and “La Marinera” show. After Lunch , you will finish the day visiting the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes of the jungle. Champagne in the room. Overnight at Sol y Luna, located in a wonderful atmosphere: The Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Day 3: Sacred Valley of the Incas, an undiscovered paradise (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the hotel. The day will begin with a truly memorable experience, a ride through the Sacred Valley. To recharge your batteries you can enjoy an outdoor lunch, enjoying the magical landscape surrounded by mountains. After the tour you will be transfer to Ollantaytambo station to board the Ica Rail train departing at 16:30hrs that will take you to the village of Machu Picchu. Dinner included at the hotel. Overnight at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Hotel.
Day 4: Machu Picchu (B/L/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning you will have a guided tour to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
Your guide will explain the surprising degree of technology achieved by the builders of this incredible citadel. The exact precision of massive stone building, the provision of water channels that reveal a deep understanding of hydraulics, the steps carved into the rock of the mountain and Intihuatana (“the highest point of the Sun”), which served as a solar calendar that regulate planting and harvesting, are tangible and concrete expression of the deep knowledge and technological advancement of the empire.
All these buildings, along with the Temple of the Sun, the Royal Tomb, the Priest’s House, the Inca Baths and the Temple of the Three Windows, allow you to go back in time and with the help of your guide, revive the existence of those truly admirable builders. Lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge Restaurant.
In the afternoon you will take the Hiram Bingham train back to Cuzco, with dinner and cocktails on board.
Arrival to Poroy Train Station and then private transfer to your hotel in Cusco. Overnight at the exclusive Casona Inkaterra Hotel in Cusco.
Day 5: Cultural fusion and mystical places (B/-/D)
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure to explore Cusco on your own or just relax at the hotel facilities. In the afternoon enjoy a guided tour of Cusco visiting the Main Square, the Church of San Blas, the Museum of Pre- Columbian Art, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha.
Dinner at Ciciollina`s restaurant. Transfer back to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco.
Day 6: Cusco – Lima – Iquitos (Saturday) (B/-/D)
Early transfer to Cusco airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival, our representative will meet and assist with their connecting flight to Iquitos.
3:30pm Departure from Lima on flight LA2382
Your guides await you, as your flight from Lima glides in for landing at Iquitos International Airport. After you’ve claimed your luggage, you will board an air-conditioned bus be transferred to the main port of Iquitos where he expects Agua.
5.40pm Transfer the main port of Iquitos
As you settle into your spacious room, the vessel will start the journey through the Yanayacu, deep in the Amazon. Within the next few days, you will also sail along the major tributaries of the Amazon River and the mighty Amazon itself. You are embarking on a spectacular adventure, to a place visited only some of the most experienced world travelers.
7.30pm Guidance on Safety on board
Before dinner, we meet on the upper deck to report on safety on board. Then, the Cruise Director and the guides will give a brief orientation talk about life on board, the places you go and what to see during your trip down the Amazon.
8.00pm Welcome Dinner
Peruvian Cuisine is considered one of the best in the world. Here it is presented with European flair, and a vegetarian dish with a fine selection of South American wines.
While enjoying these delicacies, watch the river and surrounding area through our panoramic windows.
Before retiring, we suggest you enjoy a nightcap on the top deck under the stars.
Day 7: Iquitos (B/L/D)
AMAZON RIVER / TAHUAYO & LAGO CHARO
6:30 a.m. Amazon River Expedition
Get up early to watch the first sunrise over the Amazon River. This is just a taste of what lies the rest of your trip. Return the M/V Aqua.
8.00 a.m. Breakfast
Wake up early and enjoy the beautiful view of sunrise. Our sumptuous daily breakfast, which features a wide variety of dishes, plus Peruvian specialties and fresh fruit juices.
9.15 a.m. Tahuayo River Exploration and Fishing trip at Charo Lake.
This morning you will board the comfortable boat to sail from the Amazon River through the shortcut channel Huaysi and explore the river of black water- the Tahuayo. Lifejackets, ponchos, rubber boots, and fresh water are always available in small boats. As we sail across the river Tahuayo observe occasional fisherman paddling in their canoes. Keep your binoculars ready to see a variety of wildlife; terns, orioles, blackbirds, black collard hawks, monkeys and sloths share this wonderful place with us. Upon arrival at Charo Lake, you can use your hooks to try to catch some of the ferocious piranhas and other types of fishes. While fishing, our guides tell the story of the lake and its habitants.
11:30 a.m. Return to AQUA
Cold towels await you, while moving back on board the AQUA. As the ship continues its journey down the Amazon River, you have some time to rest or take a nap before lunch.
Enjoy a light lunch in our dinning room with air conditioning.
4.00p.m. Yacapana Islands Exploration and visit the Dolphins.
Locals call Yacapana Islands. “Islands of the Iguana” by the large number of these reptiles- which looks like a small dinosaurs. Amazon beliefs say that if you touch an iguana, you will develop some of it features and, as nobody wants to look like them, these animals are well protected.
We will pass close to the skiff, giving you the opportunity to take good pictures. As the sun sets, you will have the opportunity to see and photograph the dolphins, gray and pink freshwater. The peoples of the Amazon believe that these animals become humans to steal their people of great beauty during celebrations.
7.30 p.m. Towards the source of the river.
Aqua return to and continue our journey upstream toward the source of the Amazon River, where the Ucayali and Maranon rivers merge.
Before dinner, we recommend you a “pisco sour” on the top deck while watching the sunset. 8.00 p.m. dinner.
Day 8: Iquitos (B/L/D)
Maranon River / Pacaya National Reserve
7:30a.m. Full Day tour to the Forest
This morning, the guide will tell you about sustainable development projects in the Amazon. You will visit one of the projects, where villagers are planting palm trees for oil. Your guide will also show you the artificial nests created on the sand to protect turtle eggs. Then we go into the jungle to encounter wildlife and learn firsthand about the value of medicinal plants in the jungle. Observe the famous Ceiba trees, the highest in the Amazon.

Option 2: Guided Walking tour through the jungle / Siesta / Monkey and Expedition Dolphins
8:30 a.m. Guided Jungle Walk at Ranger Station Nº 1
This morning, the Park Ranger will tell you about sustainable development projects in the Amazon. You will visit one of the projects, where villagers are planting palms to obtain oil. The ranger will also show you the artificial nests created on the sand to protect turtle eggs.

12.30p.m. Lunch Followed by a nap
4.00p.m. Monkey & Dolphin Expedition
In this issue you will see the two different types of freshwater dolphins – including the unusual pink dolphins found in the Amazon River. You can also see a variety of primates including 13 species of monkeys living in the National Park squirrel and howler monkeys, pygmy marmosets and Titi Monkeys. Watch for alligators, and keep your binoculars ready and you will see over 200 species of birds.

8:00.p.m Optional Night Excursion
Tonight we board the boats in search of alligators, boats, tarantulas and toads. After this night adventure, the Aqua will start sailing downstream on the Maranon River, toward the headwaters of the Amazon.
Day 9: Iquitos (B/L/-)
Amazon River/ Port Miguel/ Nauta/ Iquitos
8:00a.m. Amazon River
This morning Aqua skirts the edges of the vast Pacaya-Samiria, a flooded forest covering five million acres at the headwaters of the Amazon basin. Rise early and be on your skiffs at 5.30 a.m. to see one of the great spectacles of the Southern Hemisphere: the sunrise over the birth of the Amazon River. Here, at the junction of two major tributaries, the Ucayali and Maranon form the greatest waterfall in the world. Your dawn excursion will be accompanied by abundant bird song, as you glide in small boats past river banks populated by large-billed terns, laughing falcons, exotic shor-tailed parrot, and dozens of other birds.
8:30 a.m. Puerto Miguel village, where you can meet and interact with local villagers in this remote part of the world and learn more about their culture, traditions and folklore. You also have the opportunity to trade items for local handicrafts. In return, we will travel on boats through a small channel connector between the Maranon and Ucayali rivers, where you will have the opportunity to see the biggest aquatic plant in the world, the giant water lily o “Victoria Regia”
11.40. a.m. Lunch
Share a late lunch on board with the friend you have made during the journey through the Amazon.
1:15.p.m. Landing/ Visit the Manatee Center/ transfer to Airport
This afternoon, we visit the Wildlife Rescue Center Amazon, a kind of animal orphanage where they receive Amazonian manatees and dolphins and give them specialized attention to save future and reintegrate them into their natural habitat.
4:30p.m. Check in At Iquitos International Airport
The guides will help you check at the airport and stay with you until you have boarded the flight back to Lima.
5:50.p.m. Flight to Lima LA 2383.
Upon arrival, our representative will meet and assist with luggage and transfer you to Country Club Hotel.
Day 10: Lima – International Departure (B/-/-)
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, continue with a sightseeing tour of Lima, the “City of Kings”. The tour includes Lima’s Historical Center, passing by Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the government palace, the city hall, The Cathedral and the Museum of Religious Art. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to your next destination and will be assisted with your luggage, departure tax and registration procedures.
