Nazca and Paracas Tour
Nazca is a unique place due to the mysteries of its astonishing lines and figures, drawn with spectacular perfection. The beauty and magnitude of the lines must be observed from the air. This experience coupled with the Paracas Marine Reserve, which is one of the world’s most valuable and impressive coastal habitats, is a spectacular 2 day Peruvian adventure!
Itinerary
Day 1: Lima - Paracas
At 6:30 am we will transfer you to the bus station for your 7:30 departure on the Royal Class motor coach (best available) to Paracas (3 hours). Upon arrival we’ll transfer to the Hotel Paracas. Paracas is considered one of the best marine reserves in South America, having a very high concentration of marine birds. In the afternoon you’ll return to the Hotel Paracas and overnight.
Day 2: Ballestas Islands - Nazca Lines
At 7:15am we’ll transfer to the dock where you will take a motorboat excursion to the Ballestas Islands. These islands are breathtaking, eroded into numerous arches and caves, which provide shelter for thousands of seabirds, seas lions and other marine life. The islands are known as "the Galapagos of Peru". After the tour, we’ll transfer to Nazca where we will marvel at the famous Nazca lines. Spread out over the desert, these large rock formations are not only parallel and geometrical figures, but also designs such as a dog, an enormous monkey and a humming bird with a wing span of over 100 meters. The lines, that represent some sort of astronomical pre-Inca calendar, are best seen from the air and were not even “discovered” until man was able fly. We will take a half hour flight above the lines and then visit the Chauchilla Cemetery, where human bones, mummies and pottery shards litter the desert. In the evening, return to the hotel and overnight.
Day 3: Paracas - Lima
In the morning we’ll transfer to the bus station and take the Royal Class motor coach back to Lima. From the bus station in Lima we’ll transfer to your hotel.
